Hope Breakfast Bar was forced to close their doors like many restaurants in March of 2020, due to Covid-19. With whatever food still remained on their shelves, they stayed true to their name, offering hope in the middle of a pandemic and shifted from a for-profit restaurant to a community kitchen. This small act of generosity, in the middle of a nationwide shutdown, quickly gained momentum as donations filled their kitchen for the next number of months, allowing them to provide over 70,000 meals to the communities of St Paul and Minneapolis. For restaurant owner, Brian Ingram, generosity has always been about giving the first bite. Hope Breakfast Bar is a film that documents this journey and captures the stories of those who were helped, and the team of volunteers who made this all possible.
