Manhattan Film Festival

Set in the shadow of a decade-long period of political and social chaos in China, 12-year-old Yangyang and his older brother Chunzi struggled to live under the poverty line in a small and isolated village. Chunzi dreamed to join the army as it’s the only way out for underprivileged children like him. Y, feeling lost in his early adolescence, gradually finds courage, love and hope and finally embarks on his own journey to seeking the world on the other side of the mountains.
